Choosing a carbon water filter cartridge for a countertop water filter system.
The list of cartridges that we have available for our counter top water filter systems is extensive and diverse and this can cause selection problems for people, but we believe in giving you freedom of choice to select a cartridge that best suits your needs.
All carbon cartridges easily remove chlorine and other nasties such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia but the better quality ones treat at a higher rate for longer, all of the cartridges listed below will easily remove chlorine.
A countertop water filter system’s cartridge has a dual role as it must operate as a sediment and chemical removal filter. The first thing to consider is apart from chlorine is what other nasties to you need to remove from the water?
If you require your counter top water filter to treat for Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts then the choices are:
- Pentek CBC-10,
- Matrikx CR1
- Omnipure Coconut
All of these cartridges are of high quality, will produce excellent tasting water and are sediment tolerant (which is required with counter top water filters as they operate without a sediment filter)
